Background and History
After training with Desert Compost in the foundations of Organics Recycling, the Southern CA Mountains Foundation’s Urban Conservation Corps decided to create their own community composting program at their headquarters in the Eastern Coachella Valley. Many corps members are not receiving municipal composting services, so the in-house organics recycling program fills that gap. The Corps operates an aluminum, glass, and tire recycling program and has now added organics recycling to their list of offerings.
